Lobna is an academic associate professor of architecture, urban design and urban sociology in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia. She's also an architect, urban designer and urban development expert with more than 25 years of experience. Her main focus areas in both academia and practice are architecture, sustainable urban design, community design, urban sociology, community development, and place-making, in both her research work and hands on projects .
She has wide experiences in various fields including architecture, urban design, environmental- behavioral studies, water fronts, place-making, and community inclusion in decision making. She's currently holding the position of the Vice-Dean, Acting Dean of Female Section, College of Architectural engineering and Digital Design, Dar Al-Uloom University, Riyadh, Ksa. She's also a board member in the Saudi Society of Urban Sciences (Umran) Riyadh branch, and The representative of the Arab Cities Place-making network ( AMAKEN) in Riyadh, KSA.
