Urban Planner & Integrated Development Expert

Mohammad is an architect, urban planner and urban development expert with more than 25 years of experience. His main focus areas are appropriate architecture and urban planning, sustainable urban and community development, place-making, integrated development, as well as housing and urban upgrading. He gained wide experiences in various fields including planning new cities, upgrading informal and historical areas, architectural design and adaptive reuse, urban design and place-making, capacity building for local administration, and social and economic development.
He previously worked in UN-Habitat Egypt, managing four projects and leading “Housing and Urban Upgrading” programme. He also worked at Participatory Development Programme – GIZ Egypt, and with several architectural and urban planning firms in various responsibilities, through which he gained wide range of experiences.
