Rasha Sayed, has a Ph.D. Degree in Architectural Environmental Design. I have been in international private practice as a licensed professional consultant for several years. At the same time by 2017/2018, I finished a program as Visiting scholar at MIT Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Architecture School-Urban Planning Department DUSP, in the Sustainable Cities Program. That enriches my capabilities to teach, practice, and contribute to global development policy plans. The research title was “Promoting local community integration in world heritage site planning: George Town, Penang, Malaysia”. Now I am a Flying Faculty Tutor and Link Tutor of the programs (SHAPE/BIFCA, BA LA UK) at Birmingham School of Architecture and Design, Birmingham City University, Faculty of Arts, Design and Media, and other joint international programs between UK, Hong Kong, and China (Wuhan Textile University) and (Hong Kong University). I graduated from Cairo University, Faculty of engineering- architecture department 2004. From 2007 to 2009, I got a scholarship to finish my master’s degree from Scuola Superiore di Catania. Italy, in M.Sc. in Landscape Design, and Environmental Planning. Then I went back to Cairo to finish my P. HD in Landscape Design and Urban Planning, from Cairo University. The thesis title was “Climate change and Sea Level Rise impact on Coastal Urban Communities, Environmental Urban Design as an approach to mitigate and adapt with changes on North Egyptian Coastal Lines”. Class 2018, I finished the Professional Trainer Board Member program at Missouri State University. I had as well teaching experience in landscape architecture and architecture design at Cairo University, American University in Cairo, and MSA University, in addition, I am the CEO of SAAB Designs and a construction firm. As well, I am affiliated with P4CA, Planners for Climate Actions, UN. I have been working parallel with different authorities in the field of climate change actions for several years and implementing development for climate actions on different levels such as architecture, urban planning, and environmental landscape design respecting local stakeholders and people’s reactions. I gained significant experience in government, business, and NGO sectors while working with relevant authorities inside and outside Egypt.
